| 03.13.2010 | SAINT PATRICK'S DAY PARADE AND FESTIVAL Saturday at 10:00 am to 5:00pm "The largest Parade west of the Mississippi" will step off just about 1.5 miles from us. Hop in a cab or take the public transportation system to be a part of the thousands of marchers and spectators gather to celebrate the Patron Saint of Ireland. The Festival in Balboa Park (Sixth Avenue and Maple Street) runs from 10 am to 5 pm and features Entertainment on 2 Stages with Irish Folk singers and we will have Irish Step Dancers, Irish Crafts, Food Booths, Celtic Village, Beer Garden, and a Kid Zone with rides. Over 20,000 people are expected to attend. Other events include a Catholic Mass held in the Imperial House, 505 Kalmia Street, at 8 a.m. conducted by the oldest practicing Priest in California, Msgr. Patrick O’Neill, and a Military Flag Raising ceremony at Sixth Avenue and Maple at 10 a.m. |
