After the Christmas presents are unwrapped and the holiday feasting is over, the seasonal celebrations continue at the Port of San Diego Holiday Bowl Parade. Known as America's largest balloon parade, the annual event is celebrating the season with a colorful spectacle featuring marching bands, parade floats, and a procession of gigantic balloons all flying high over the streets of downtown San Diego.
More than 100,000 spectators will fill the streets on N. Harbor Drive on December 27th to celebrate Holiday Bowl game day with the Bumble Bee Seafoods 5K run/walk before the parade begins. The fun begins with the footrace at 9:45am then the parade gets underway at 10am. After the parade, visitors can head to the Broadway Pier for a toe-tapping Battle of the Bands event and visit Qualcomm Stadium to check out the National Funding FanZone. Football fans get into the action to cheer for their favorite teams when the Holiday Bowl game kicks off at Qualcomm Stadium at 4pm.
The 36th annual Port of San Diego Holiday Bowl Parade begins at 10am on December 27th. General admission grandstand seat tickets are $20 per person, but street-side viewing is free to the public. Visit http://www.sandiegobowlgames.com/events/parade/ for tickets and parade information.
