Silent Sky tells the true story of Henrietta Leavitt, an astronomer ahead of her time. It takes place in 1900, where Henrietta has the opportunity to work at Harvard University as a human computer, one of Dr. Edward Pickering's "harem," mapping the stars but receiving no scientific credit. Dessert Reception following Opening Night performance on Thursday, 10/24. Silent Sky Talkback scheduled for Saturday, 10/26 at 4:00pm following the matinee performance. This will be moderated by Director and Theatre professor at USD, Tezeru Teshome, and will feature the following panelists: Lisa Baird, PhD, Biology professor at USD, Tammy Dwyer, PhD, Chemistry professor at USD, Rae Anderson, PhD, Physics professor at USD, and Alison Coil, PhD, Physics professor at UCSD.
